WhoDunnit?

This term we will be learning about the context of Crime and Punishment through the years from the Romans to the 18th Century. We will be learning about the sorts of crimes that were committed in different time periods, why this might be, and how punishments were carried out. We will be looking critically at the different primary and secondary sources that we have to find out about historical events, and considering how useful or reliable they are. We will be using drama to reenact court room trials from different time periods, and apply the knowledge we have learnt to a roleplay scenario. We will also be looking at crime and punishment through the eyes of different social groups in history, including rich and poor, men and women, children and adults, and comparing the past to how life is for us in Britain today.
