Today:

The children tried out the new 'Louma Log' workstation (thank you to Birchwood Learning for sharing their idea: http://www.birchwoodlearning.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/The-Louma-Log-Guide.pdf).

Zoe created something amazing! She is so creative, patient & persistent & her skills with the tools have really improved.

We all observed 2 minutes of silence at 11am. We sat in the fire circle & paid our respects to those that have fallen. It was also really interesting to discuss what we heard during the 2 minutes of silence.

Lizzie & Evelyn made & dressed a stick person.

Olivia & Charlie tried really hard to split some of the recently acquired hornbeam, for future forest schoolers to use as fire wood in the next few years. But it was just too tough, despite their best efforts with the axe & the billhook. They were both very determined & were not easily defeated.

Yet more wood babies were created.

Freddie continued to work on his mushroom project.

Joseph & Rocco continued in their roles as the Waldorf & Statler (the muppet hecklers) of forest school. Will we get another photo of them sat laughing together next week?

Lizzie & Evelyn made paint from the embers of a fire.

Summer & Bobbie worked together to saw their pieces of wood for future wood babies.
