The Pebble In My Pocket

by Meredith Hooper and Chris Coady

This book is about a pebble that travels thousands of miles across the world. It goes back to 480 million years ago so it takes you back a very long time ago. The pebble is so old that it goes back to before life on Earth. The pebble is so old, you can't believe it!

My favourite part was when the boy threw the pebble at the rat because it made me laugh.

I didn't like the fact that they didn't show the pebble a lot.

This book is suitable for 5+ because a 4 year old wouldn't know what 'magma' or 'treacle' means, would they? So I would say 5+.

Interesting facts about the Earth:

The first life on Earth was insects.

These are the names that geologists give to the different periods of the Earth's history:

Cambrian, Ordovician, Silurian, Devonian, Carboniferous, Permian, Triassic, Jurassic, Cretaceous, Paleocene, Eocene, Oligocene, Mizocene, Pliocene, Pliestocene and Holocene.
