Knights in Shining Armour

This term our topic is Knights in Shining Armour. We will be learning all about castles and medieval life in our history and wider topic lessons, and comparing our lives today with the lives of people in the past.

We will be using a range of non-fiction resources to research our topic and find out even more information.

In February we will be learning about China, and finding out how Chinese New Year is celebrated.

We are continuing to learn new spelling rules each week. This term our focus is on suffixes such as -ly, -ment, -ful, -es -ed -est and -er. We will learn how to use punctuation such as speech marks, commas and apostrophes to in order to improve our writing.

In maths lessons we are building on our existing skills in place value, addition and subtraction, and learning how to apply these skills when solving problems involving different measures such as time, money, capacity and temperature. We will be challenging ourselves by solving 2-step problems and problems involving 2 mathematical operations.
