Keep Calm and Carry on!

This term we will be travelling to the 1940s and exploring what it would have been like to live during the time of World War 2. We will expore how terrifying it would have been to live through the blitz, how people sheltered in Anderson Shelters and learning about children who were evacuated to the countryside for safety.

In English we will be investigating narrative plot, characters and settings in Letters from the Lighthouse. We will continue to challenge ourselves to use adventurous vocabulary and develop our use of more complex sentences. We will use all of this wonderful knowledge to write a diary entry, look at newspaper articles as well as writing from different viewpoints.

In Maths this term, we will be continuing to build upon a range of mathematical skills, including, place value, fractions and decimals, area and perimeter and multiplication and division. We will continue to apply our skills to solving problems and developing our mathematical language through reasoning.

In science we will be starting a new topic about all living things and their habitats. We will focus on the seven life process (MRS GREN) the characteristics of the organisms and how they can be classified.

In P.E this term we will begin our swimming lessons and developing our athletic skills.
