Fairy Tale Lane

Our topic this term is based around well known Fairy Tales.

We will be reading 'The Jolly Postman or Other People's Letters' by Janet and Allan Ahlberg.

English

The children in Class One received a very special parcel this week from The Jolly Postman.

Inside was a story book all about his adventures as a Post Man.

This term we will read through the story and learn all about the characters that The Jolly Postman visits on his route.

Hansel and Gretel

The Jolly Postman visited a gingerbread house in the middle of a forest this week. He was delivering a letter to the wicked witch from the story of Hansel and Gretel. We imagined that we were witches and wizards and began to design our own magical potions. We wrote a recipe for a magical potion and then created our potions at the end of the week! They were very smelly and full of lots of magical ingredients.

Maths

Our Maths learning this term is based around Place Value.

We will be counting all the way to one hundred, finding one more and one less of a number and learning the number bonds to ten.

Our learning will involve lots of practical lessons to support our understanding.

Science

This term we will be learning all about Ourselves.

We went on a senses walk, to find all of the things we could see, hear, smell, touch or taste!
