One Eye on London

Our topic this term focuses on the city of London. In our history lessons we will be learning about the Great Fire of London. We will be comparing Samuel Pepys' London in 1666 to London as we know it in 2016.

Our maths will focus on number, place value, addition and subtraction. We will be ordering and comparing numbers, partitioning numbers into hundreds, tens and ones, and using a range of methods to add and subtract numbers in a problem solving context.

Our spellings this term will focus on Year 1 and 2 high frequency words and common exception words. These are the words that children use frequently in their writing (the, have, what, was, said etc.) and those which are exceptions from general spelling rules (move, because, great, people etc.).
