Term 4

Welcome to Term 4!

We have such a wonderfully exciting and busy term ahead of us.

We can't wait to get stuck in!

Our Year 1 and 2 Flotsam Assembly!

Class 1 and Class 2 shared their English, Art and DT work with the school and their parents. They also enjoyed showing off the dance moves they have been learning this term!

Thank you so much to the children who donated their birthday money towards our class trip. We had a great time despite the wet weather!

This term began with a mysterious object being washed up on the 'beach' in Class One. It took lots of investigating to work out what it was. We then began to look very closely at the book Flotsam - a beautiful picture book without words. Inspired by the book, we used our senses to describe the scene and have written sentences using exciting adjectives. We have also practised our predicting and inference skills.

In Science this term we are sorting animals by what they eat. We have been learning about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. We will be looking at our own teeth and those belonging to various animals to discover why teeth are different shapes and sizes.

In art, we designed a fish template then used this to cut out the shape in clay. We then used different tools and equipment to imprint patterns to make the scales.

In this term we have been continuing to explore what makes a place of worship special. We have found out who would worship in a church and who would worship in a mosque. We have also looked at some of the special objects that we might find in these places of worship.

In history, we found out what cameras looked like in the past and that they needed film to produce photos. We discussed and compared this to how we take and store photos now.
