Welcome to Class 5!

Teacher: Mrs. K. Jones

Teaching Assistant: Mrs J. Falcon-Uff

Hello and a very warm welcome to Class 5.

I look forward to our year ahead together and hope that the children's year in Class 5 will be a fun and happy time.

Useful information for Class 5:

 Routines

Coming into school is a trickle entry. Children can come in from 8:35am and the doors close at 8:45am.  If you arrive after 8.45am, please take your child to the office to be signed in.

The school day ends at 3.15pm and children will be taken to the playground for collection.

General

Clothes and personal belongings - Please ensure all items are labelled clearly with your child's name.

Water - Sports top bottles please. Water bottles are kept in the water bottle area. The children have access to this throughout the day.
Book Bags - Reading Records and Pupil Planners must be brought in every morning and taken home every evening along with their reading book.

Wellingtons - Please could all children have a named pair of wellingtons to store at school as we plan to use the school field as much as possible.

Thank you.

Homework

Homework will be set each Friday and should be returned by the following Thursday.

Homework will include spelling words to learn and write into full sentences, an arithmetic or maths activity on White Rose Infinity and a short reading, or grammar activity.

In addition to the homework set, we ask that you hear your child read daily and encourage them to develop their rapid recall of times table facts. Both are key skills which will support your child's learning across the curriculum.

Homework Club will be running on a Monday lunchtime to offer any additional support needed. All children are welcome to attend as required.

P.E.

Our weekly PE sessions are on a Tuesday and Friday afternoon.  Children are welcome to attend school in their P.E. kits on these days. Please could earrings and watches be removed for P.E. If your child cannot remove their earrings, please provide them with tape to cover them.
