Hello to all our pupils and their families in Year 6!

We hope you have all had a relaxing, sunny break from school and are ready for your final year of primary school.  We are really looking forward to welcoming you back.

This year is a brilliant year to be in; starting with Bikeability in September, our trip to Salus, Safety in Action in March, a day out to Whatman Park in May and we go on our residential to Norfolk Lakes in June before we put on our production of Bugsy Malone in July.

However, it is a year of challenge and commitment, beginning with choosing our Head Girl and Head Boy in the first whole week back.  We want you to get the most out of every moment as it will fly by and then you will be off to your secondary schools before you know it!

But until then, Wednesday will be the start of a packed year and we can't wait to share it with you all.

PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT DATES FOR TERM 1.

Just a few key dates for you, I shall go through these on the Meet the Teacher afternoon and update them throughout the year.

THURSDAY AND FRIDAY ARE PE DAYS – PLEASE COME DRESSED IN PE KIT AND TRAINERS.

Term 1

9^TH TO 11^TH September – Bikeability

All bikes and helmets to be brought in on Monday 9^th September and can be left in the classroom overnight.

Groups A, B and C will cycle on the playground on Monday

Groups A and B will cycle all day on Tuesday

Group C will cycle all day on Wednesday.

There is a chance of rain, so please dress in own clothes and bring waterproofs where possible. A change of clothes would be ideal.

11^th September – Meet The Teacher

In the classroom from 2:45 to 3;25pm

12^th September – Kent Test (11+)

In classroom.  Morning only.  Our invigilator will be from St Thomas’s School as usual.

16^th September – Year 6 Residential Information

Two sessions will be held for families to hear about the Norfolk Lakes trip from 6^th June to Monday 9^th June.    First session 3.30pm.  Second session 6pm in Y6 classroom.

7^th October – Y6 Assessment Week

In class Monday to Thursday.

10^th October – individual photographs

In the hall all morning.  Please ensure your child is wearing the correct uniform, thank you.

18^th October – Kent Test Results

Parents will be informed of their child’s results by email from KCC.

23rd October – Celebration of Learning

Open classroom across the school.

24^th October – Harvest Festival  2.30pm

This will be led by Year 6 children at St Mary’s Church.
